Access the resources you need to make the most of your Miss Porter’s School education.
At Porter’s, we believe that the first step toward reaching your full potential begins with asking for help when you need it.
Everyone needs a helping hand here and there. That’s why we encourage every student to take advantage of our wide range of academic support and enrichment opportunities. Whether you need assistance with organizational skills and time management, or specific tutoring in subjects like math, language and writing, we offer resources and one-on-one specialists who will help you unlock your full potential and thrive.
Our academic support team helps students manage their academic responsibilities—from test-taking strategies to time management and general organization skills. All Porter’s students are encouraged to seek support from the writing studio, quantitative skills lab and language lab—if and when they need it—as a way to develop essential skills in proactive learning and self-advocacy.
Students are encouraged to stop by the Ford Library on weekday evenings to get extra support in key academic areas.
Stop by the Q Lab for guidance and help in all levels of math and conceptual physics.
Get support with Spanish, French, Latin and Chinese.
During evening study hall, attend the Writing Studio to receive guidance on all aspects of the writing process.
We offer two independent study programs that help you stay sharp during trimesters when you aren’t enrolled in math and language courses.
Through Math REPS (Review, Extend, Practice, Sustain), you’ll have access to individualized math support so you can continue your studies, expand your skills, and brush up for an upcoming math class.
This year-round program delivers weekly opportunities for cultural engagement, community events and language development activities that will help you practice and maintain your language skills.
At Ford Library, students can access over 13,000 print volumes and 150,000 electronic books and other digital resources. With lots of seating and study rooms, the library is a perfect space for independent study as well as group projects and learning activities. And if you need help navigating the library stacks, getting started with a research project, or you just want a thoughtful book recommendation, our librarian is available and ready to help.
