Equity & Inclusion Organizations

As a community, we believe in working together to create a more just and inclusive institution where everyone belongs.

Five people smile and dance together in a brightly lit room with wooden walls, while two others applaud in the foreground. Everyone appears energetic and joyful as they move and interact.

Our many different equity and inclusion organizations bring our community together. They are how we build deep connections, educate and learn from one another, and make our voices heard.

Celebrating what makes each member of our community unique is a core pillar of the Miss Porter’s School experience. And we understand that identity, culture, and lived experience are fundamental to who each of us is today and who we’ll become tomorrow.

In order to recognize and honor every community member’s distinct voice, identity and impact, Porter’s is home to more than 20 equity and inclusion organizations (E&I orgs). Partnering with the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI), these organizations engage students and adults through cultural events, open conversations, and informative workshops, and they embed anti-bias and anti-racist education across our curriculum and our community.

A group of young people gather around a kitchen counter, preparing food together. One person wears an oven mitt and handles a dish, while others watch or help. A large clock hangs on the wall in the background.
A group of people sit and stand around tables covered with purple cloths, eating and talking. The tables have food, drinks, balloons, and art supplies. The atmosphere appears lively and social.

FOSTERING TRUE BELONGING

Our E&I orgs build connections around shared identities, provide opportunities for learning, advocacy and celebration, and foster true belonging.

Equity & Inclusion Student Organizations

E&I Orgs create meaningful opportunities for students to explore identity, build community and engage in courageous, thoughtful dialogue. Through a variety of student-led groups—ranging from identity-centered affinities to cross-community alliances and collaborative hubs—students are empowered to learn from one another, uplift diverse voices and practice active allyship.

Equity & Inclusion Adult Organizations

Adult organizations are employee groups that foster community, continued identity education and collective growth.
