The Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is an important tool, funding 10 to 13 percent of the school’s operating budget every year.

Most donors invest in the everyday excellence that is a hallmark of Porter’s through the Annual Fund. Gifts of all sizes immediately impact our students through the collective power of your philanthropy.

Our trustees adhere to a long-term financial model built on a disciplined 4.5% annual spending policy, balancing impact today with institutional endurance. At that spending rate, approximately $66.7 million in new endowment dollars would be required to generate the same impact as $3 million in annual, recurring support. When our community comes together, Annual Fund gifts act as a powerful engine for Miss Porter’s School.

Gifts to the Annual Fund provide support for every student experience, life-shaping teaching and the sustainability of our historic campus—all in support of an ambitious, 21st-century girls’ education. The fund also plays an essential role in reducing tuition costs by about $6,000 per student each year.
